CSM Company Maintenance Activities
After you have sent a CSM company and its related contacts and locations to BigCommerce, there are a number of maintenance activities you can perform as needed:
Company Status Updates
You can update a CSM company’s status and then send this change to BigCommerce:
- Change the selected option in the Status field on the CSM Company Card page’s General FastTab
- Choose the Actions ribbon, select the Channel Integration menu group and then choose the Send Company Status to Channel action.
The new status will be sent to BigCommerce, where the corresponding B2B company will be updated accordingly.
Business Central Updates
If you update a Business Central customer, contact, or ship-to address, you can update the corresponding CSM company record and then send these changes to BigCommerce.
Companies
The following customer field updates can be made to a CSM company: Name, Address, Address 2, City, State/Province, Post Code, Country/Region, and Phone No.
- After updating a customer, open the corresponding CSM Company Card page
- Choose the Actions ribbon, select the Data menu group and choose the Sync Company action.
The customer changes will be made to the CSM company and the External Requires Update field on the Company Status FastTab will be set to True.
Note: with the exception of the company Name, all other values are sent from the CSM company location that has been linked to the customer’s primary address. If you change these values for the Business Central customer, you should update the related CSM company location (described below) before sending the company updates to BigCommerce.
- You can then send these updates to BigCommerce by choosing the Actions ribbon, then selecting the Channel Integration then choosing Send Company to channel.
Company Contacts
The following contact field updates can be made to a CSM company contact: Name, Phone No.
- After updating a contact, open the corresponding CSM Company Card page
- On the CSM Company Contacts FastTab, select the contact you want to update, then select Data then choose Sync Company Contact.
The contact changes will be made to the CSM company contact and the External Requires Update field on the line will be set to True.
- You can then send these updates to BigCommerce by selecting the Channel integration menu group on the CSM Company Contacts FastTab, then choosing the Send Company Contact to channel action.
Company Locations
The following customer/ship-to address field updates can be made to a CSM company location: Name, Contact, Address, Address 2, City, State/Province, Post Code, Country/Region, and Phone No.
- After updating a customer/ship-to address, open the corresponding CSM Company Card page
- On the CSM Company Locations FastTab, select the location you want to update, then select Data then choose Sync Company Location.
The address changes will be made to the CSM company location and the External Requires Update field on the line will be set to True.
- You can then send these updates to BigCommerce by selecting the Channel integration menu group on the CSM Company Locations FastTab, then choosing the Send Company Location to channel action.
BigCommerce Updates
If you update a BigCommerce company, user, or address, you can retrieve this information into Business Central, update the corresponding CSM company record, and then update the related Business Central record.
Companies
At this time, CSM only supports retrieving changes to all companies and not a single company at a time.
The following company field updates in BigCommerce can be made to a CSM company: Name.
- After updating a company in BigCommerce, open the CSM companies list from the CSM Sales Channel card in Business Central by choosing the Related ribbon, then selecting the B2B menu group and choosing Companies.
- From the Actions ribbon, select Retrieve Information from channel then choose Retrieve companies from channel.
The company’s information will be retrieved from BigCommerce and any changes will be made to the CSM company.
- You can then update the related Business Central customer by choosing the Actions ribbon, then selecting the Data menu group and choosing the Create or update Customer action.
Company Contacts
The following user field updates in BigCommerce can be made to a CSM company contact: Name, Phone No.
- After updating a user in BigCommerce, open the corresponding CSM Company Card page in Business Central
- Choose the Actions ribbon, select the Retrieve Information from channel menu group and choose the Retrieve contacts action.
The user’s information will be retrieved from BigCommerce and any changes will be made to the related CSM company contact.
- You can then update the related Business Central contact by selecting the contact on the CSM Company Contacts FastTab, then Data then choosing Update BC Contact.
Company Locations
The following address field updates in BigCommerce can be made to a CSM company location: Name, Address, Address 2, City, State/Province, Post Code, Country/Region, and Phone No.
- After updating an address in BigCommerce, open the corresponding CSM Company Card page in Business Central
- Choose the Actions ribbon, select the Retrieve Information from channel menu group and choose the Retrieve locations action.
The address’s information will be retrieved from BigCommerce and any changes will be made to the related CSM company location.
- You can then update the related Business Central record by selecting the location on the CSM Company Locations FastTab, then selecting Data then choosing Update linked Address.
Note: a BigCommerce B2B company address is just a single address; the concept of separate ship-to and bill-to addresses does not exist. As a result, the Retrieve locations action can update a CSM company location’s billing address or shipping address, but not both. By default, this action is configured to update the location’s billing address, but you can change the API response mappings for the GETADDRESS API function to update shipping address information, instead.
