CSM Overview - What are the benefits and differentiators?
Workflow automation and order/inventory visibility help you achieve what matters most: accurate and faster order processing with your marketplaces/ecommerce platforms.
What are the components of CSM?
CSM is comprised of a core module where most of the application’s functionality resides. The components include:
-
- API Engine: the functionality that manages API calls to the external platform.
-
eCommerce template: the various tables that are needed to integrate an eCommerce system in Business Central.
- Task automation framework: the routines and instructions to the API engine to execute communications on a recurring, scheduled basis.
What are the benefits of CSM?
CSM products allow online sellers to keep business areas such as sales orders, inventory management and accounting synced and up-to-date with Marketplace/eCommerce activities. This makes it easier to manage all business data in one platform!
The end result is critical workflow automation and complete sales order visibility, which help you achieve what matters most to your customers: accurate and faster order processing!
How secure is CSM?
CSM benefits from and adheres to Microsoft’s security standards. User data is secured within the Microsoft environment, and Suite Engine cannot copy or otherwise retrieve sensitive information.

What differentiates CSM from other integrations?
The structure of CSM begins with a core module embedded within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which is layered with platform-specific systems. This results in a solution that can access multiple eCommerce systems and standardize processes.
CSM is thus a truly product-agnostic solution. This multi-channel support reflects today’s eCommerce environment, where online retailers generally utilize multiple channels or platforms for their business.
What platforms are compatible with CSM?
CSM provides integrations between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Marketplace/eCommerce platforms.

By positioning the bulk of the functionality within CSM Core and our proprietary API Engine, we make it possible to build additional extensions to other platforms that leverage the same objects and processes.
To be clear, this is not an instantaneous process; development will be necessary to build this channel-specific extension. But by basing these development efforts upon CSM’s existing template, your company will not have to start this process from scratch, which helps with implementation costs and development time.
