Why have I received a renewal notice when my license is paid up to date?

Sometimes BC and Stripe are not updated quickly enough. Follow these steps:

If you believe that your license is paid up to date, but Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is giving you an error or requesting that you start a new trial, it may be that the license control system (Stripe.com) has not communicated effectively with Dynamics 365 BC or vice-versa. We have occasionally found that BC is not updated quickly enough in situations with specific significant changes to the customer information or where there was a billing issue that is now resolved. You want to activate it immediately and not wait for the regular interval update. You can follow the suggestions below.

  • Force Refresh

    • This issue can generally be quickly resolved with a “Force Refresh” from the “Suite Engine Subscriptions” page: Stripe Force Refresh
  • Unlink and Re-link the Stripe Customer

    • If the “Force Refresh” did not work, you might find that unlinking and re-linking the customer solves the issue:

    1. From the Suite Engine Subscriptions page:
    2. Take note of the: Customer ID, Address, and Email
    3. Click on the button “Unlink from Current Customer.”
    4. Return to this page and click on the “Link to Existing Customer,” follow the instructions and re-enter the information you noted earlier.
    5. You may need to click the Re-activate or Manage button on the lines to get the subscription back.
    6. Always run a “Force Refresh” if you do not get the expected results.
