Glossary Terms

  • Block represents a block of townhouses (or houses) in low-rise phase or a floor in high-rise phase.

  • Closing Date Type provides a reason for entering each closing date value (i.e. the reason for changing closing date at each occurrence). The examples of Closing Date Type are Original Closing Date, Closing 1st Amendment, Closing 2nd Amendment.

  • Construction Attributes are purely information fields on the Lot Card. These fields describe constructional specifics of a lot. The list of attribute types is pre-defined.

  • Cost Detail represents a cost code that is used for cost analysis. Each Cost Detail should belong to a Cost Group. Each Cost Detail should have Dimension Value associated with it.

  • Cost Group represents a category for cost codes defined in Cost Detail table and used for cost analysis. A Cost Group can aggregate either revenue or expense cost codes but not both. Each Cost Group should have Dimension Value associated with it.

  • Functional Role is a named set of functional permissions. To manage functional roles, open page "Functional Roles" by searching it.

  • Grading Condition represents physical properties of the Lot such as Look-out, Walk-out, Corner, Corner Deck, etc. This is just for information and potentially reporting.

  • House Area represents an area in a house where work is to be done to complete construction. The examples of House Areas: Master Bedroom, Stairs, Attic, Furnace Area, or the whole house.

    • House Area is most easily understood and defined by starting with the question: “How do my Trade Contractors split up the areas in the house when quoting for work?”
  • House Area Measurement answers question: what measurement types are applicable for each house area.

  • Key Date Category represents a category for Key Dates and serves informational purposes.

  • Key Date Template is a named set of key dates. It can be used for populating Model Key Dates which can be further inherited by the lots of this model.

  • Key Dates represent types of events that should be tracked during construction of a home. The examples of Key Dates: Permit Obtained, Excavation completed, Framing Started. The key dates can be tracked automatically upon completion of tasks or manually.

  • Lot represents the following:

    • For High Rise: the unit in a condominium, the floor, or a common area.
    • For Low Rise: the piece of land where one house (or townhouse) will be built and the house itself.
  • Lot Type represents the physical type of a lot which defines what kind of the houses can be built on a lot with such Lot Type. The most common use of this is a restriction for which Model may go on which Lot.

  • Measurement Type pre-defines how you want to measure a standard feature within a House Area. The examples of Measurement Type are Room Areas, Wall Tile Area, Floor Tile Area, Molding Perimeter.

  • Model House Area Management defines measurement types and values for a Model House Area.

  • Model House Area represents M-to-N relationship between Models and House Areas and answers the question: “Which House Areas are included in the Model?”

  • Model Items define which Items are applicable for the Model, House Areas of the Model where the Item can be installed, prices and costs which are specific for the Model House Area.

  • Model Lot Type represents relationship between Models and Lot Types and answers the question: “On which Lot Types the Model can be built?”

  • Model represents specific type of housing unit (house, townhouse or condo unit). Housing units of the same model has the same physical structure and the same elements on construction work.

  • Ownership Type represents type of property ownership, such as Freehold, Standard Condominium, Vacant Land Condominium.

  • Phase Items define which Items are applicable for the Phase, prices and costs which are specific for the Phase and which Vendors will be implementing the Items in this Phase.

  • Phase represents a set of buildings and infrastructure that should be constructed together within one process. The example of a Phase is a sub-division or condo multi-storey building.

  • Standard Adjustment Journal is a template that stores set of closing adjustment transactions that can be run upon closing lots.

  • Work Order is a set of items which must be completed by a Vendor within a Vendor Contract.
