HOMEBUILDER:  USING COPILOT FOR ANALYSIS REPORTING

Activating and Utilizing the Analyze List capability

Microsoft Copilot in Business Central allows you to analyze any list page to create custom reports quickly. In HomeBuilder, this is particularly useful for reviewing budgets and construction costs across multiple lots.

Prerequisites for Analysis

To ensure Copilot can find and process your data correctly, follow the procedures below:

Activate Copilot Features

  1. Navigate to Search and enter “Copilot & agent capabilities”
  2. Ensure that the “Analyze list” capability has Status set to “Active”

Prepare Your Data View

  1. Open a list page, for example “Lots”
  2. Select a lot, and on it’s fact-box cues click “Budget”. This will open the "Lot Budget" page
  3. Use the 'Personalization' tool to add any necessary fields, such as 'Lot Code', this will prevent Copilot from returning errors if required fields are missing from the current view

Clear Existing Filters

  1. Click on the “Show filter pane”
  2. Remove any active filters. This ensures that Copilot has access to the full relevant dataset
  3. Hide filter pane

Generating an Analysis

Execute Your Initial Analysis

  1. In the Action Bar, click on “Enter Analysis Mode”
  2. After the preparation is complete, on the righthand side ensure all the column checkboxes are checked
  3. Select the Copilot icon and enter in a prompt such as, ‘Show me the biggest costs outstanding
  4. Click “Generate”

Refine and Customize Results

*As Copilot generates the analysis, follow-up instructions can be provided to narrow the scope. This can be accomplished by:

  • After Copilot completes the request, in the prompt box where it says “Add more details about the analysis”, add more details of your choosing
  • Clicking “Discard” in the Copilot box or right clicking the tab of the generated analysis and clicking “Delete”, then entering a new prompt with more details
  • You can achieve further optimization by customizing the analysis layout, including or excluding “Columns” and/or “Analysis Filters” from their respective sidebars

Saving Your Analysis

Analysis tabs are automatically saved to you list page, so you can return to them later without losing your configuration.

Renaming Your Analysis

Analysis tabs can be renamed, which can be useful for creating a library of different analyses.

Deleting Your Analysis

These analysis views remain active on your page until you explicitly choose to delete the analysis tab yourself.
